Shelby is an Associate Attorney for the firm, and her practice focuses on tax, landlord-tenant, and business law as well as estate planning, and probate and trust administration.

Shelby recognizes that the practice of law often accompanies the most difficult things in a person’s life—both good and bad. Whether a client is starting an exciting new business venture or navigating the loss of a loved one, she prides herself in providing the best possible legal support to help in all situations.

Originally from Hinton, Iowa, Shelby has always been active in school and community organizations. She was a student-athlete and Letter winner during undergrad and an assistant coach for the NCAA Division I Equestrian Team while working toward her M.Ed. While in law school, Shelby served as the Managing Editor of the South Dakota Law Review, a student-attorney and graduate assistant for the Low Income Tax Clinic, President of the Agricultural Law Society, and site coordinator of the Vermillion Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program. She worked briefly as a tax attorney in South Dakota before relocating to Clear Lake to be closer to family.

Currently, she serves as the Membership Director for the Clear Lake Jaycees and is a member of the Iowa State, Minnesota State, and American Bar Associations. She also enjoys spending time with family, traveling, being outdoors, and is an avid supporter of the SDSU Jackrabbits, Florida Gators, and TCU Horned Frogs.
