Collin M. Davison

Partner

Collin practices in complex business, agriculture, estate planning and probate matters and serves on the firm’s Management Committee. He applies a meticulous and client-dedicated approach to his practice and remains active in select banking, commercial, agriculture, and probate and trust litigation matters.

Collin grew up on a farm north of Garner, IA—just 15 miles west of Clear Lake. He first fell in love with the practice of law while watching live trials on television, and even played “hooky” from school, skipping from time to time so he wouldn’t miss out on a trial that piqued his interest. He took a summer job working at a law firm while attending undergraduate studies at Drake University.

In law school, Collin served as Editor-in-Chief of the Drake Law Review. He earned his degree with highest honors in 2011. Also while in law school, he clerked for CritelliLaw, during which he worked on select state-side and international business, commercial and agriculture litigation files. Following his time at Drake and CritelliLaw, he returned to north central Iowa to build his career at Laird Law Firm.

Collin serves as a member of the Board of Directors of the North Iowa Corridor Economic Development Corporation and is a member of the Garner-Hayfield-Ventura Sports Boosters. He enjoys coaching his sons’ athletic teams, cheering on the Nebraska Huskers and Chicago Cubs, and visiting the family farm during planting and harvest seasons.
