Grant is a native of Ottumwa, Iowa and graduated from Simpson College. During college, he took an internship covering evening and weekend news for the Des Moines Register. The internship turned into a four-year stint at the Register that took him to all corners of the state to cover trial and appellate courts, breaking news and the 2016 Iowa presidential caucuses.
His courtroom experience while working for the Register sparked an interest in the legal profession. He graduated from Drake Law School in 2020 with highest honors. During law school, he honed his skills through the trial advocacy program and serving on the Drake Law Review.
In addition to his regular practice, Grant is happy to offer guidance to clients whose legal dealings might involve interactions with journalists and the media.
Outside of the office, Grant spends his time playing music with friends and family, camping at music festivals and getting outdoors with a fishing rod. He earned the rank of Eagle Scout as a member of Troop 11 in Ottumwa. He and his wife, Megan, look forward to getting to know the communities of Mason City and north Iowa.
